JAMES E. CROWELL- Founder of Crowell Plumbing
He began his apprenticeship in 1935 after graduating from Hillsborough High School and Tampa Business College. In 1953 he founded Crowell Plumbing & Heating Company, Inc. He served as president of the Hillsborough Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Contractors Association, the Florida Building Industry Council of Florida, and the North Tampa Kiwanis Club. He served as Lt. Governor of the Florida District of Kiwanis. James Crowell was appointed by the Hillsborough County Commissioners to study the consolidation of the City of Tampa and the County Building Departments. He was appointed by the State of Florida to update the State of Florida Plumbing Code. He was appointed by the Governor to serve as a member of the Florida Board of Building Codes & Standards. He received the prestigous in Orbit Award for the devoted service to the plumbing industry was an Honorary member of Florida Association of Plumbing, Heating & Cooling Contractors.
